2026 Leckey Forum & Regional Housing Leaders Award Ceremony

September 24 @ 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Join the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance for an afternoon of learning, connection, and celebration at the 2026 Leckey Forum & Regional Housing Leaders Awards Ceremony.

The Leckey Forum brings together housing professionals, public officials, advocates, and community partners for a timely conversation on the issues shaping housing across Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth. The program will be followed by the Regional Housing Leaders Awards Ceremony, recognizing individuals and organizations whose leadership, advocacy, and service are helping expand housing opportunities and strengthen communities.

Virginia Housing Alliance

Dedicated to affordable housing and ending homelessness, Virginia Housing Alliance (VHA) supports organizations and communities across the Commonwealth through advocacy, education, and capacity building.

This year, we are recognizing VHA for their leadership in advancing state housing legislation and helping secure important policy and budgetary wins that are expanding housing opportunities across Virginia.

Commonwealth Housing Coalition

The Commonwealth Housing Coalition is a pro-housing coalition of organizations from across Virginia, all working together to advance common-sense, bipartisan legislation to end Virginia’s home shortage and ensure that all Virginians have access to an affordable home.

This year, we are recognizing the coalition for its leadership in advancing Faith in Housing, Parking Reform, and By-Right Accessory Dwelling legislation during the 2026 General Assembly session. The coalition also supported legislation to expedite affordable housing approvals and legalize manufactured homes.

Josh Childs, Rising Housing Leader Awardee

NVAHA’s Rising Housing Leaders brings together emerging professionals in affordable housing to build connections, learn, and strengthen the next generation of housers. This award recognizes a member who has shown exceptional leadership and commitment to both the field and their peers.

Josh Childs is a passionate advocate dedicated to expanding access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. Josh got his spark for housing as a volunteer and AmeriCorps building homes with Habitat for Humanity. Now as a Senior Project Manager with Wesley Housing, he leads development initiatives in Northern Virginia and beyond to produce and preserve affordable communities. Josh is a long-term volunteer with Virginia Housing Alliance on the Calypso planning committee for the annual Credit Conference and serves as the Chair of NVAHA’s Rising Housing Leaders group where he helps build community among his housing peers.
