NVAHA-Loudoun was formed in 2023 through a partnership between the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance (NVAHA) and the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties. Building on the 2022 Workforce Housing Now campaign, which raised awareness about the need for diverse and affordable housing options, the alliance was created to advocate for effective housing policies and resources in Loudoun County.

With seed funding from the Loudoun Community Cabinet, NVAHA-Loudoun was officially launched with a $50,000 grant that enabled the hiring of a dedicated Director focused on policy in the jurisdiction. In October 2024, NVAHA brought on its first Loudoun Director, Amanda Caughran, to lead local efforts in advancing the goals of the Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan and ensuring affordable housing is accessible to all.

NVAHA-Loudoun continues to work closely with local stakeholders to address the county’s housing challenges, fostering a community where everyone has a place to call home.
